Y4 Multiplcation Check

Dear Year 4 Parents and Carers,
As your child is in Y4, they will sit the Multiplcation Tables Check, as set out by the government. The test is only 5 minutes long and is generally known as the MTC. It will assess if your child has a good graps of their times tables, all the way up to 12 x 12. There is no set pass mark for the test, however, we are sure that you will agree that having a good understanding of number is a key life skill and it is helpful to have facts at your fingertips. It will also help them with future learning in the subject.
We have sent a guide home to help you form a good understanding of the check. In school, Y4 have been working hard since Year 2 to learn their times tables. To support your child's progress we do ask that you support us in completing their homework and going on TT Rockstars regularly to help with their mathematical fluency.
If your child has additional needs, please know that we will support them by making adjustments so they access the assessment. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact us in school.
