Behaviour and Good Discipline
At Woodchurch CE School we recognise that positive behaviour and good discipline has to be worked for – it does not just happen. The school’s approach to behaviour and discipline involves a concerted and consistent effort by all staff to create a positive environment which will contribute in itself to the school’s aim for the all-round development of the child. Positive behaviour and good discipline is the keystone of our Christian community.
In order that we show we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus it is important that we show forgiveness and seek reconciliation. Once an issue is addressed, forgiveness helps us to show our understanding whilst reconciliation helps to rebuild and strengthen relationships. Without positive behaviours and good discipline our school would not be respected by its children, parents, parish and neighbours within Woodchurch.
Children are rewarded with positive choices. It fabulous to call parents at work or home to give the news of good behaviour.
When a child is finding it difficult to do this, we will remind them and support them to change their behaviour. If they fail to do this, then we will be in touch.
For children who find it difficult to regulate their behaviours due to an additional need, a behaviour plan will be put into place.
