The Children’s University
The school is involved in the Children’s University, which rewards those children who do take part in extra-curricular activities. The receive credits depending on the number of accumulated hours over the time they are in primary school. At the end of each year the pupils have the opportunity to receive one of the following:
- 10 hours – a certificate
- 30 hours – a bronze medal
- 65 hours – a silver medal
- 100 hours – a gold medal.
In the past we have had pupils achieve a silver medal. For this they were invited to attend an award ceremony and afternoon tea. This also takes place should a child achieve a gold medal.
For the first time this year the children in Year 3 are being encouraged to get in the Wirral Mayors Civic Scheme which acknowledges the time children spend to carry out a range of task in their own time. These tasks can include work related to learning, helping others and sport.
